WHAT: Formal announcement of major collaboration between EAA and currently-under-construction Morgan’s Wonderland Camp (MWC), which will offer a summer-camp-type experience for those with and without disabilities in the scenic Hill Country on the northern edge of San Antonio.

WHERE: Morgan’s Wonderland Camp construction site, 23215 Cibolo Vista (off Evans Road just east of the JW Marriott Resort) on San Antonio’s northern outskirts. (See attached map.)

WHY: To lay out details for cutting-edge Edwards Aquifer Authority Education Outreach Center that’s being built in partnership with Morgan’s Wonderland on the MWC site.
ETC.: The Edwards Aquifer Authority, an agency that has been in existence for almost 25 years, manages, enhances and protects the Edwards Aquifer, a major groundwater system serving approximately 2 million South Central Texans. Education is at the core of the agency’s mission because public outreach provides a fundamental understanding of the vital resource that is the Edwards Aquifer.
The EAA regulates the portion of the Balcones Fault Zone Edwards Aquifer – a jurisdictional area that covers more than 8,000 square miles across eight counties. These include all of Uvalde, Medina and Bexar counties as well as parts of Atascosa, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Comal and Hays counties.
Morgan’s Wonderland Camp, located on 102 acres near the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa, is projected for completion in mid-2020. Cabins will be able to accommodate at one time up to 525 campers of all ages and abilities along with staff for day, weekend or week-long camp sessions. Activities will include ultra-accessible™ ziplining, horseback riding, hiking, archery, cycling, swimming and much more.
