Butterfly Playground
Designed to make a difference
Just beyond our Taking Flight sculpture awaits Butterfly Playground, a colorful, shaded place for guests to play, learn, and grow together. Here, kids of all ages – children, teens, parents, and grandparents alike – can create memories as everyone plays side-by-side. Friends can immerse themselves in imaginative fun, and perceived limitations no longer exist – you’re truly free to soar.
Barrier-Free Fun
Butterfly Playground is specially designed to offer equitable experiences and inspire inclusive play. The playground features two wheelchair-accessible playscapes, elevated activity panels, ground-level gizmos, sensory play elements, and copious amounts of fun. Guests can also board Sway Fun – a large boat-shaped feature that rocks back and forth – enjoy four variations of swings*, explore Sand Circle and Music Garden, and more!
PS: All of our playgrounds are surrounded by soft, squishy rubberized flooring, so safety and family fun exist hand-in-hand!
My son loved the playground! Kudos to whatever engineer thought up that amazingness, because it was the best playground I’ve ever seen.
Did You Know?
Butterfly Playground is home to four types of swings:
- The Molded Bucket Seat: Features a high back and optional straps for trunk stability and support. Can spin around 360 degrees…and fast!
- Wheelchair Swings
- Tire Swings
- Seated Swings
Many elements in Butterfly Playground can also be used for physical therapy purposes. For example, the Roller Table™ encourages stretching and provides sensory stimulation through deep-muscle pressure similar to a massage!
Butterfly Playground is constructed in the shape of a butterfly, making it our largest symbol of inclusion.
